“Our goal, if we are doing our job well, is that you wouldn’t know we exist. We want to make the unique voice of our clients come through.”

Shane Fraser started SNA Today right after graduating college 12 years ago. He sat down with YOUR Chamber Team to share insight on how his growing, community-minded business is helping companies succeed at social media.

About SNA Today

Shane Fraser started SNA Today right as business owners began using Facebook back in 2011. To give you context, Twitter was the number two network, Instagram had not been created, and LinkedIn was used for applying for jobs. Back then, many people thought social media was a fad, but we saw the opportunity for businesses. As the social media landscape grew, so did our company, which includes my wife, Elise Fraser.

We describe ourselves as a social media marketing agency. We offer social media management, social media consulting, training, and pretty much anything when it comes to social media. We understand the need to keep current with the ever-changing social media landscape. So, we reevaluate and innovate every year as necessary.

While anyone can ‘do’ social media these days, what sets us apart is how we take a step back to create a strategy for our clients based on their specific goals. Our process is that we learn who our clients are trying to reach, what their capacity is and then we create their strategy.

We always encourage companies to try managing their social media on their own for a bit first. That gives them a baseline of what to expect and helps them start to figure out what you want to get out of social media marketing. Often, companies reach out to us because they may have someone in their office doing their social media, but it’s without strategy or planning.

What Clients Can Expect from SNA Today

A great example is Amy Sperry with the Union County Education Foundation. It’s a local organization, and Amy, as Executive Director, was running their social media. She had some experience on her own, but we were able to come in and help her develop a strategy focusing on consistency while telling the organization’s story and highlighting its supporters. Those posts helped connect UCEF to donors and sponsors, leading to some direct and beneficial ROI.

We have an ongoing relationship with our clients, and periodically reevaluate the strategy we are using to ensure we’re reaching the right people, and putting out messages that convert.

In 2012, we moved to North Carolina soon after graduating college. The Charlotte area appealed to us, and we ended up in Waxhaw and fell in love with the community and the county. Some of our first clients included the Monroe Union County Economic Development Commission and the Union County Chamber.

We love Union County, and giving back is part of our company’s DNA. We support nonprofits throughout the community in a variety of ways. At the end of the year, instead of sending gifts to our clients we make donations to local nonprofits on their behalf. This is a small way we can give back and there are so many great nonprofits right here in Union County!

Our focus is on helping companies break through the noise of such a busy world to get their message in front of the people who will benefit from it.  In the next 10 years, we want to continue to spread the word about the great companies that we work with and the great things that they’re doing.
