Event Descriptions
The Union County Chamber is a valuable resource for all business types and sizes. The Chamber is charged with meeting the common needs of all businesses as well as the specific needs of each business segment. Our events are focused on the professional and personal growth of our members. We strive for continuous improvement and invite feedback and ideas for new events.

Annual Golf Classic
Members and guests enjoy a relaxing day of golf at a beautiful Chamber-member golf course while networking with clients, friends, and sponsors. This connections-filled day includes a captain’s choice format for golfers, sponsorship opportunities, lunch, goodie bags, door prizes, and beverage carts.
Annual Gala
The Annual Gala, the largest event of the year, is held the first Thursday in December. During this celebratory event, the Chamber recognizes members who have volunteered throughout the year and presents its annual Excellence in Business Awards. The evening includes networking with business and community leaders and dinner for an average attendance of 550+ Chamber members and guests.
Business Builder Events
Formerly called the Business Networking Luncheon, these events include networking, speakers on a variety of timely topics and the introduction of new members. These events also feature some of the most cost-friendly sponsorship and advertising opportunities.Coffee & Connections
This is a special networking opportunity for our members who would like to connect with fellow members and prospects. There’s no program; just networking, so make sure to bring plenty of business cards when you attend! This event rotates locations throughout the county.Elected Officials Reception
This annual event provides Chamber members an opportunity to connect with local and state elected officials who serve Union County.
Emerging Leaders Luncheons
Held quarterly these luncheons feature local professional leaders who share about the skills that have helped them advance their careers. Attendees at these events discuss how they can apply the topics presented in small groups.
Environmental Health & Safety Breakfast
This breakfast brings a speakers to address environmental, health and safety issues affecting chamber member businesses.
Get Plugged In – New Member Orientation
Held monthly, this event provides members information about all programs, events, and services the chamber offers. We recommend this event for all new members and new representatives within the first three months of membership. It’s free and open to all members!
Nonprofit Workshop
This annual event is specifically focused on helping nonprofits grow their reach in order to better serve their clients and the community. It includes a keynote presentation by a regional nonprofit leader, along with time for attendees to ask questions, as well share best practices. The topic varies from year to year.
Public Policy Luncheons
Quarterly luncheons featuring local, state or national public policy topics that impact business in Union County and the surrounding region. Learn more about the Public Policy Program.
Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Events
Chamber members with new facilities, new ownership, major expansions, or breaking ground on a property receive the royal treatment from Chamber Ambassadors, Board Members and staff as the ceremonial “cutting of the ribbon” or “turning of the dirt” takes place. These events provide free promotion, great photo opportunities, and are included in the Chamber’s e-Calendar and social media sites.

Small Business Breakfasts
Quarterly breakfast events feature speakers who present information targeted to small business owners. In celebration of National Small Business Week, the Chamber hosts an exclusive invitation-only breakfast to celebrate the contributions of small businesses to our community.
Union County Safety Awards Luncheon
Each year, Union County manufacturers and other businesses are recognized by the North Carolina Department of Labor for their stellar work in maintaining safe work environments. The NC Commissioner of Labor and staff present the awards at this annual luncheon event. This popular event typically attracts 150+ attendees, including executives, plant managers, safety managers, and human resource managers from across Union County.
Union County Women in Business Luncheons
These quarterly luncheons feature speakers on topics of interest to women professionals and include lunch and lots of networking. These popular events typically attract 125+ attendees including women business owners, executives, managers, and young professionals.
Union County Women in Business Annual Professional Development Event
This annual event features speakers and activities for the professional development of women professionals at all stages of their careers. The event includes lunch, lots of time to network, dessert, and swag bags.
