RIBBON CUTTING/GROUND BREAKING GUIDELINES
Thank you for your interest in scheduling a Ribbon Cutting with the Union County Chamber. In order to best serve our members, we have prepared the information below to fully explain the process. Please read it carefully.
Guidelines to qualify for a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony:
The business or organization must be a current member, in good standing, of the Union County Chamber.
The Member must have a new business opened within the last 6 months, or
The Member is expanding their business (ie, adding on more space or a new location), or
The Member is moving their business to a different location, or
The Member is rebranding or reopening their business under new ownership.
A completed application must be received by the Chamber staff.
Scheduling Process:
Ribbon Cuttings are scheduled on first come, first served basis. Your Ribbon Cutting will be considered in queue when a fully-completed application has been received.
Ribbon Cuttings are normally scheduled Tuesday-Thursday, between 9:00AM – 4:30PM.
Ribbon Cuttings are typically not scheduled on days of scheduled Chamber events or Chamber responsibilities.
Chamber Responsibilities:
Create Ribbon Cutting Event Registration Page on Chamber website
Include Ribbon Cutting in weekly newsletter for the weeks leading up to Ribbon Cutting (This newsletter goes out to Chamber members, elected officials and media; however, the Chamber cannot guarantee the attendance of specific individuals.)
Share Ribbon Cutting announcement on Social Media
Inform member of the number of registrants two days before Ribbon Cutting
Bring ribbon, scissors, and camera to Ribbon Cutting
Facilitate announcement of business, introductions of elected officials, and business owners to say a few words
Facilitate and take pictures of Ribbon Cutting (Member is welcome to have their own photographer, too. Please let Programs and Events Manager Sydney Baker know if that is the case.)
Member Responsibilities:
Complete and submit Ribbon Cutting Application at least 5 weeks before desired date of Ribbon Cutting
Invite customers/clients, prospects friends, family, and neighboring businesses and appropriate elected officials if desired
Share Ribbon Cutting announcement on Social Media
Send press release and follow up with media if you are interested in coverage for your event
Provide your business logo in png or jpeg format to Sydney along with the application.
Once you have read and agreed to these procedures, please click below to complete your Ribbon Cutting/ Ground Breaking Application. A member of the staff will contact you to review the application and schedule the Ribbon Cutting Event.
