Zulma Verdejo-Carrion’s experience caring for 3 children with special needs opened her eyes to a new career. Prior to opening Serene Fusion, LLC she worked as an ESL teacher and a massage therapist. She also has 3 adult children, one who developed severe allergies in her teens, one who was born with Spina bifida, and one who had a congenital diaphragmatic hernia. As she shared with YOUR Chamber team, it was the interactions with a naturopath doctor that ultimately led to her opening her business.
About Serene Fusion LLC
I started my business without knowing it was even the possibility of a business. I had been doing holistic medicine with my three children due to their different health conditions. I saw that by controlling what food they were eating, I could ease some of their allergy symptoms, and help prevent them from getting colds or sinus infections.
So, I started doing some Reiki work and other energy work, and became a massage therapist. But when I was working as a massage therapist under someone else, I had to give 60% of what I made to my employer. I knew I didn’t want to work for 40%, so I went out on my own.
In 2017, I moved to Savannah and met a gynecologist who was also a holistic medicine doctor. He introduced me to the health activation products we sell at Serene Fusion.
What can customers expect from Serene Fusion?
One of my main goals is to educate people on practical alternative health practices. I do energy work and teach classes including Access Bars Classes and Consciousness Classes.
The products we sell activate your body to behave like it did when you were young. We focus on getting to the root of the problem instead of masking it with conventional medicine.
I also can help coach parents of children with health issues. Often, when a complicated health issue comes up, parents don’t know what questions to ask or what strategies to use. I can help coach parents, and I coach women as well, to help empower them to be their best selves.
Our work is particularly helpful for those in their 40’s and 50’s.
One story that I am proud of is a friend of mine who had an autoimmune disease that made it very difficult for him to walk. He was suffering from oxidative stress, and the issues in his body were creating inflammation. He started taking some of those activation products, and later called me to tell me they had changed his life. He said he could walk easier, was tripping far less. Before taking the supplements, he was not able to sit at booths in restaurants. He and his wife always had to sit at the bar, because he was unable to get down into the booths. After taking the supplements, he was able to sit in a booth for the first time in years. It is stories like that that make me proud of my work.
