To qualify, the business must be a Chamber member in good standing.  Award recipients will be chosen by an independent panel of judges. Finalists and recipients for all awards will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Award Event in December. Previous award recipients are not eligible for nomination in the same award category for five years.

Community Impact

The Community Impact Award is presented to a for-profit Union County business that embodies an overall spirit of community service through contributions of time, leadership and resources in support of local nonprofits and the clients they serve. The award recognizes the profound impact business can have on the well-being and vitality of our region.

Employer of Choice

Attracting and retaining top talent is vital to any successful organization. The Employer of Choice Award recognizes businesses committed to creating a world-class workplace for its employees. The business has created a place where people choose to work over competing organizations. Company leadership focuses on the importance of employee well-being, implements formalized programs to encourage health, and provides a workplace that encourages personal and professional development.

Excellence in Business and Excellence in Small Business Awards

Chamber member businesses with 21 or more employees are eligible for the Excellence in Business Award, while the Excellence in Small Business Award is for those with 21 or fewer employees. These awards recognize organizations that demonstrate outstanding performance, growth, sustainability, innovation, and visionary leadership in their industry and local community.

Lifetime Achievement

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual for a lifetime of consistent contributions to their business, chosen industry, and community. Their actions, achievements, and contributions evoke admiration and respect, with an exemplary community service record and successful business history. Their influence and contributions have made a tangible impact on the lives of those around them, their communities, and their place of business.

Nonprofit Innovation

Innovation knows no bounds, and the Nonprofit Innovation Award aims to spotlight a Union County 501(c)3 nonprofit that demonstrates a forward-thinking, innovative, and effective response to community challenges.  The organization’s innovative project, program, or initiative should have taken place or been completed within the past 12 months.   Strong consideration will be given to those nominations demonstrating effective and efficient use of human and financial resources, and involving collaboration of other nonprofit organizations, businesses, or governmental agencies in their efforts.

Rising Star Excellence in Business Award

The Rising Star Award is an exciting opportunity to highlight an up-and-coming business. It celebrates Union County’s highest-performing new companies (those in business for 1-3 years), recognizing those that have exceeded initial targets for growth and financial performance; best demonstrated an understanding of their competitors, customers, and the markets they operate in; and have the foundations in place for continued commercial success.
