Emerging Leaders Program equips future influential decision-makers in Union County

December 9, 2022

Union County is increasingly becoming a destination of choice for professionals thanks to the growing career opportunities, excellent quality of life, and wide variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences. As these professionals advance in their careers and make Union County home, many are looking to make a lasting impact on the community and their workplaces.

But it can be challenging to get your foot in the door and find ways to make your voice heard. YOUR Union County Chamber can help you make the connections you need to grow your influence while you advance your career and make Union County an even better place to live, work, and play.

The Union County Chamber Emerging Leaders Program equips future influential decision-makers in Union County with comprehensive professional and personal skills, engaged civic knowledge, and active community service.

The program consists of professional development opportunities, education on public policy, and training for successful nonprofit board membership.

Membership is open to employees of Union County Chamber member businesses.

Professional Development

There are 4 Professional Development Luncheons a year, each focused on a vital leadership skill employers are looking for in employees. Local leaders in the Union County community will share the skills they’ve found have helped them the most in advancing their careers and influence. Following the presentation, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with one another to discuss application of the topics presented.

Because we know being an influential decision-maker includes more than strong career skills, the Emerging Leaders Program will also host 2 seminars focused on how to be a good nonprofit board member and understanding how public policy works in North Carolina.

Community Service

Finally, future leaders need to understand the challenges facing those less fortunate in our area, and work to make a difference. The Emerging Leaders Program will give back to our community through quarterly Community Service projects and the collection of items for local nonprofits. To help us all see the impact we are having in our area, we will track the hours served by Emerging Leaders members and share that with the community.

Those who pay a $25 membership fee, and attend all 4 luncheons and 2 seminars will have the opportunity to receive a professionally produced headshot.  You can read all the details about the events and register here.
