“I only work with a handful of people I really trust. The clients we serve deserve the best care, and I only work with those whom I trust to provide it.”
About Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care
Sean Griffin started Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care in 2021. He was inspired to open a home-care agency after lessons learned when his mother was in a car accident.
“My mother was in a car accident in New Jersey. I didn’t live there, and my work involved travel most of the time. In between my work travel, and my family here in North Carolina it was a challenge to get to the hospital, and most times I could only go on weekends. Then when she got discharged, they told me she would need 24/7 care. I had a breakdown right there in front of the discharge nurse. I had no idea what all was entailed with that.
But the agency that cared for my mom was phenomenal. They sat down to talk with me and helped provide what my mother needed. They were able to care for my mother Mondays through Thursdays when I traveled. This allowed me to keep my job and continue supporting my family.
I was so impressed, that a few years later, I started an Acti-Kare franchise servicing folks in in Union County.”
What Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care Provides
Acti-Kare provides senior care and home care services in Indian Trail, Stallings, Waxhaw, Weddington, and several other locations in the area.
“90% of our clients are elderly. It often happens that, like in my case, their children can’t be there 24/7 to care for them. They need assistance with house cleaning, reminders for taking medicine, or someone to go on walks with them when it’s nice out.
Or, if they have a doctor’s appointment, or need to do shopping during the day and don’t have anyone to take them, we provide travel assistance. There are a lot of non-medical things seniors and those who need in-home care can benefit from. Often, medical needs can be helped through the hospital or medical center. But it’s all the other stuff that we can help with.

Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care Makes an Impactful Difference
“We have a client who moved to the area from West Virginia. Soon after, her husband passed away, and then her parents passed away. She was an only child and did not have children of her own. Soon after her parents passed, she started battling lung cancer. During the Christmas season, we help clients put up trees, decorate, that kind of thing. As we have worked with her, my staff and I have become her family.
Christmas of 2022, when it was very cold, we got a call early in the morning from a client saying it was too cold in her house. She is bedridden and truly does rely on us. So, I went over to check on the heat. It is so rewarding to care for clients like that. She really does call us her family.”
