You’re never going to be free of a multitude of demands battling for your time, attention, and energy. The opportunities for distraction and demands that require multi-tasking seemingly grow exponentially each year.
You are not alone. We’ve heard from women across the
community sharing how distracted, worried, and stressed they are. It can feel like we’ve lost our ability to focus and be present altogether.
While times are distracting, and we all continue to deal
with the trauma and fallout of the pandemic, you are resilient and strong. You have all you need within yourself to be engaged, focused, and fierce.

We will have 2 powerful presentations on Focus and Mindfulness to help you make NOW the primary focus of your life. Each session will be followed by breakout groups where you can discuss the lessons learned and put a plan in place to help you be more focused and engaged in all areas of your life.
Have you found it difficult to focus lately? Are distractions getting the best of you at work and in your personal life?
Attention is not a given. We must attend (pun intended) to our attention in order to build better focus.
In our first session, Dr. Vicki Parker, founder of the Brain Trainer, will share a presentation on helping you build attention skills.
She will share techniques that you can try to help you sustain focus and work through distractions.
Are you struggling to stay in the present? Does the concept of mindfulness sound foreign to you?
The business of life can take the best of us out of the present, and put us in auto pilot. That can leave us unengaged with those around us.
In our second session, Meghan Helms with Inner Spirit Healing will share:
Dr. Vicki Parker is founder and director of The Brain Trainer. She holds a Ph.D. in speech language pathology with a concentration in neuroscience from Michigan State University. For 30+years, she has worked with children and adults who have learning, cognitive, speech, language, behavior and auditory/reading disorders as well as gifted individuals looking to accelerate their skills. She has worked with individuals with the following diagnosis; neurological, trauma, drug induced, post-chemo, auditory processing/dyslexia, dyscalculia, hearing impaired, cleft palate and other articulation difficulties, foreign accent reduction, autism spectrum, Down’s Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, selective mutism, mild cognitive impairment, non-verbal learning disorder, ADHD/ADD, executive functioning difficulties and many whom just want to improve their own skill set.
Dr. Parker is the co-author of the textbook Problem Solving, Planning and Organizational Tasks: Strategies for Retraining. Prior to focusing on cognitive training in her private practice Dr. Parker worked for 24 years in hospital settings.
Along with years of clinical expertise in her field, Dr. Parker understands difficulties from the perspective of a mother whose child needed help. Her daughter Sally struggled with learning and reading in first grade. After extensively researching options, Dr. Parker chose brain training and speech therapy for her own daughter. Today, Sally is a successful graduate from NC State and works in the business world.
Meghan Helms is a Union County intuitive healer, yoga instructor, & Reiki Master.
She is passionate about helping people learn how to manage stress, feel more at ease in their bodies, and feel supported while grieving through trauma or loss.
She has been assisting & supporting men & women in facilitating positive change in their lives for almost 10 years. She is passionate about creating a safe place for people to be seen & heard.
When not helping heal the world, she enjoys hanging out with friends, seeing live music, & that her kids are old enough to pay bills.
“Be where you are. Otherwise you will miss your life.”
